A Transformation in the Making

As businesses start to re-introduce their employees into the office, space planners, architects and designers, and leaders are designing spaces to create that sense of 'FOMO' that encourages employees to come back into the office.

We’ve designed this page (and the download) to share ideas and insights of our component-centric products that can help further create reconfigurable and non-permanent spaces for employees to safely work and collaborate. We understand that these types of solutions will be critical — especially when most offices don’t have capital budget to do an entire retrofit of the office.

Create a Division of Space

Delineate space further using storage walls.

These non-permanent wall partitions still allow for the vibe of an open office while creating functional space dividers that provide:

  • Storage for personal belongings with temporary-use lockers
  • Collaboration for your co-workers that you need to connect with virtually with TV displays and media
  • Wall space for brainstorming and collaboration with whiteboards
  • Bring the outdoors into built environments by incorporating the use of biophilia
  • Built-in storage for sanitation and hand sanitizing
  • Walls for conference rooms without creating a fully enclosed space

Our standard product can be configured to give you a unique custom neighborhood solution.

Other considerations for these spaces include creating surfaces that are low-touch or no-touch, like touch-less lockers and the use of antimicrobial and copper-infused laminates, and solid surface materials.

Laminate Lockers with Smart Material Doors

Smart Material Lockers

Lockers can create a space for your employees to call their own that can help with employee morale, enhance the company culture, and if designed with touchless in mind, these lockers can create a clean and safe space for your employee and their personal belongings.

Touch-less Lockers

While we offer a wide variety of locks, RFID networked locks can create a practically touchless experience and help minimize the touch of surfaces in the office space.

Laminate Smart Lockers

With a RFID networked lock, there is no lock mounted to the outside of the locker door. The employee presents their badge (RFID card), smart phone or even wearable near the RFID reader. The system will detect the employee’s credentials and automatically pop open a locker door. The employee puts their belongings in the locker and closes the door with a simple nudge of the elbow. Making the entire experience practically touchless.

The Modern Mudroom

This mudroom would be a place for when employees come in to the building and to select a locker to use for the day, preferably with a touchless experience by using their badge, phone or wearable. They would put their change of shoes, a bike helmet, jacket perhaps in the locker for temporary storage followed by washing their hands or sanitizing before entering into the main office space.

Smart Materials

Smart materials can be used to construct the entire locker or just the door. With touchless lockers and no lock mounted to the door, the cleanability and wiping down of doors is easy. Smart materials that we can outfit your lockers with include:

  • Antimicrobial Laminates
  • Copper-Infused Laminates or Solid
    Surfaces
  • Antimicrobial Polymer
  • Nonporous Solid Surface
  • Phenolic Sheet

It’s suggested that the workplace kitchen isn’t going to necessarily go away — but rather spacing out the appliances, less seating, incorporating sanitation, prominent and easily accessible trash and recycle points and more prepackaged amenities will become more of the norm.

Agile Pantry

Our component-centric product can evolve as this space evolves. This may be a perfect place to leverage those smart materials that have antimicrobial properties or copper-infused laminates.
